Complete renovation of a detached single-family house. We tried to update a traditional Mediterranean-style villa into a contemporary, functional and aesthetically more refined home. We projected a radical change of image, prioritising clean lines, luminosity and integration with the original structure of load-bearing walls.
The rustic arches and balustrade railing were eliminated and replaced with straight lines, defined volumes and a modern glass balustrade. Openness and light have been sought through the installation of large panoramic windows and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, which maximise the entry of natural light and blur the barrier between inside and outside.
The contrast between the dark aluminium frames and the traditional white façade emphasises the openings and gives a more contemporary aesthetic. The external spiral staircase was also removed and the vegetation was tidied up, resulting in a cleaner, more minimalist façade.
In the interior, the layout was adapted to current standards, renewing installations and finishes to achieve a more functional, comfortable space that is visually coherent with the new image of the house.
